By constructing an osteotomy and opening the nasolacrimal sac into the nose, dacryocystorhinostomy (DCR) describes the establishment of a functional conduit from the canaliculi into the nose. It can be done in two ways: externally or endonasally.

Symptoms of a Blocked Tear Duct.
 Tearing
 Discharge from the eye
 Pain at the tear duct or surrounding area are some of the symptoms.

What are the reasons for a dacryocystorhinostomy (DCR)?
The surgery is performed to alleviate the symptoms of a clogged tear duct. Excessive eye watering or crusting around the eye are examples. You may have the following symptoms if the duct is infected:
• Tenderness and swelling around the eye
• Itching of the eyes
• Discharge of mucus
